Summary        

The Teaching Assistant in the Physical Education department plays a vital role in supporting the physical education teachers and enhancing the overall learning experience for students. This position involves assisting with the planning and delivery of physical education classes, managing equipment, and fostering a positive and inclusive environment that promotes physical activity and healthy lifestyles.

Key Responsibilities

1. Classroom Assistance

   - Support PE teachers in delivering instructional activities, including setting up and breaking down equipment and materials.

   - Assist with demonstrating exercises, sports techniques, and fitness routines.

   - Supervise and manage students during physical activities, ensuring safety and adherence to rules.

2. Student Engagement

   - Provide individual or small group support to students as needed to help them achieve their physical education goals.

   - Encourage and motivate students to participate actively and improve their physical skills.

   - Address students' questions and concerns in a respectful and supportive manner.

3. Administrative Support

   - Help with maintaining records of student progress, attendance, and behavior.

   - Assist in grading physical education assignments and assessments under the guidance of the PE teacher.

   - Organize and manage equipment and supplies, ensuring everything is in good condition and ready for use.

4 Event and Activity Coordination

   - Aid in the planning and execution of school sports events, fitness activities, and other PE-related programs.

   - Support the coordination of extracurricular sports teams and clubs, including managing schedules and communicating with students and parents.

5. Safety and Compliance

   - Monitor and enforce safety protocols during physical activities to prevent injuries and ensure a safe environment.

   - Assist in conducting regular safety checks of equipment and facilities.

6. Professional Development

   - Participate in staff meetings, professional development workshops, and training sessions as required.

   - Stay informed about new developments in physical education and fitness and apply best practices in the classroom.
