Overall Duties and Responsibilities
- To prepare and maintain an updated inventory of the art studio’s materials and equipment, as well as for the other classes in the department.
- To do paperwork for the acquisition of materials and equipment for the department.
- To keep and maintain equipment in a proper condition.
Key Responsibilities
Studio Management
1. Prepare/set up classrooms and studios (materials, tools, equipment)
2. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety protocol
3. Manage storage for student work and materials
Technical Support
1. Assist with setup and maintenance of equipment
2. Troubleshoot technical issues during class activities
Inventory and Procurement
1. Track and order inventory of art supplies and equipment
2. Keeping record of ordering materials within department budget
3. Writing proposals for purchases
Student Support and Subbing
1. Provide assistance to students during practical sessions under teacher supervision
2. Supervise proper use of tools and safety procedures
3. Provide basic technical guidance during studio time
4. Subbing of all classes in the department and school, if required
5. Good pedagogical understanding
6. Assist with monitoring the Art Studio during p8 activity periods
Safety and Health
1. Adherence to safety protocols (especially for tools, chemicals, and equipment)
2. Keep safety documentation and assist in risk assessments
